    Safety Culture and your take

With the recent cases of prosecution of personnel for safety lapses and malpractices by the MOM, the agency is sending very strong signals on their stands on such cases.

What is your take as an industry player?

What do you think is required for companies and individuals to act on in order to level up to the expectation of the authority?

As an employee, a manager, a safety professional or a director of the company, who role can your play and what acts can you take?

Safety culture must be enforce at all times through education from the top management to the workers. There must be some form of demerits given to the the company and also imposing heavy fines. However sometimes accident happened due to the worker’s negligence and complacency and fault should not be totally shifted to the main contractor. The safety management team play a important role in ensuring that everyone works in a safe environment.
