Covid 19 impacted the construction industry? As contractors we all know that is going to take some time to recover but how can our cashflow sustain during this period of time? The cost of construction will be going up but the contract rates are signed on contract before the precovid.

Is it possible that we request to revise the contract rates with clients?

Do you think client would want to revise the contract sum? Anyway just compile the additional cost that will incur and submit to them for record and negotiation. Construction works still has to carry on without delay and time is already lost during the CB period and even now most other businesses has started, construction work still can’t start cos the workers are still unable to work due to the accommodation issue.

I think we have to compile the prices escalation and negotiate with clients. I am prepared that in the worst case if they don’t help to substantiate part of the increase I may have to withdraw from the project.
